Women’s Golf Day Returns to the Fairways with September 1st Event
As golf begins to open up across the globe, Women’s Golf Day (WGD) is delighted to announce a new date and new online shop for celebrating the 5th Anniversary of this annual worldwide event celebrating the women’s game.
Women’s Golf Day 2020 will take place on September 1st and, in a bid to help clubs in their recovery from the impact of COVID-19, WGD is waiving the registration fee for venues signing up before August 1st.
900 venues across 52 countries took part in WGD 2019. All registered venues benefit from marketing support and resources in the lead up to the event date, including a listing on the new WGD website, which can be upgraded to a featured location if desired. The campaign’s impressive social media channels, which achieved over 30 million impressions on the virtual version of the global celebration in June, are also an important part of the marketing mix for the venues involved across the world.
This year, WGD locations and consumers are also being offered the chance to enhance their events with the addition of golf tip books, Ahead hats, beautiful custom silk scarves and WGD merchandise including a capsule collection from campaign partner; SwingDish. The collection, which is in the familiar red and white colourway of the WGD campaign, includes a branded bag, garments and accessories. These items ship worldwide and are available to order at http://www.womensgolfday.com/shop for consumers. Retailers can sign up for a wholesale account with SwingDish by registering here https://swingdish.com/pages/become-a-retailer.
Research carried out by WGD shows that the most successful event format is one that encourages new and current female golfers to take part together, across a 4-hour experience, that combines golf with a social element, such as a talk, presentation or even a drinks party. Locations vary in type from golf superstores to indoor facilities and driving ranges as well as traditional golf clubs. PGA Professionals whose facilities host WGD events will earn 2 MSR credits.
Elisa Gaudet, Founder of Women’s Golf Day explains: “Golf offers people a great opportunity to get to know one another and to feel part of a community, which is why we encourage locations to include a social element. The sense of belonging golf offers feels even more valuable right now, which is why we are keen to go ahead with an event on September 1st. Obviously not every country will be able to hold the same scale of event that they would do normally, but there are a lot of venues who are telling us that they will benefit from holding a WGD event.”
Locations interested in registering their venue for what promises to be an incredible global single day celebration of women’s sport should visit https://womensgolfday.com/register/ and enjoy the registration fee waver by using code WGDUNITES before August 1st
