His Life Is On a New Course
Redefined J.R. Smith “Follows a championship-winning player for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, who, at the age of 19, after being selected in the NBA draft, finds himself without a team to call his own and is looking to redefine his future.” IMDB
The audience seems to connect with Smith’s story
Thirty-four people rated J.R. Smith’s documentary on IDMB and gave it eight out of ten stars. That’s not bad for a first-time go-round from the former NBA player.
J.R. Smith, a former professional basketball player, has always been passionate about golf, much like other superstar athletes with a different native sport. In interviews, he talked about how golf has been a way for him to relax and unwind after basketball’s physical and mental demands. He has also mentioned that golf provides him with a mental challenge and requires a lot of focus and concentration, which he enjoys.
Furthermore, golf has been a way for J.R. Smith to stay active and competitive after retiring from basketball. The gentlemen’s sport has helped him maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay in shape. In addition, golf provides him with a sense of community and allows him to connect with others who share his passion for the game.
Golf has always been a very conservative and pristine sport. However, the documentary turns the classical image of golf upside down, with Smith appearing shirtless, covered in tattoos on the couch for the opening shot. This may not surprise today’s down-to-earth golfer as the sport evolves and becomes more accepting.
If we had to rate the documentary, we would give it four out of five stars for its uniqueness and edge. But don’t take our word for it. You can stream it on Prime and decide for yourself, then let us know what you think in the comments.
