Insights from the National Golf Foundation 2025 Graffis Report

The National Golf Foundation (NGF) released its annual Graffis Report — named after Golfdom founder Herb Graffis — showing a continuation of the golf boom that started in 2020.

The latest Graffis Report highlights another record-setting year for golf in 2024. Here are some standout stats that showcase the sport’s incredible momentum:

47.2 Million Total Golf Participants (+57% in the past decade!)

28.1 Million On-Course Golfers – the highest since 2008 and a 16% growth over the past five years.

Record Diversity:

Women on-course golfers increased by 41% since 2020.

Participation among Black golfers has grown by an astounding 123% since the pandemic.

Youth participation jumped 48%, showing golf’s appeal to the next generation.

545 Million Rounds Played – the fifth consecutive year with 500M+ rounds, surpassing early 2000s levels despite fewer courses and golfers.

Golf’s Cool Factor: Social media and innovative off-course experiences like Topgolf have made golf more accessible and appealing than ever.

Golf isn’t just a game—it’s a movement. From new course developments to greater inclusivity and a growing cultural presence, the sport is thriving.
