Practice Putting Under Pressure While Maintaining Focus
Shaun Barnes is a PGA Professional who works at Morton Golf Sales’ sister course, the award-winning Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, CA. Barnes is an expert in club-fitting and provides golf lessons to a large clientele in the Sacramento region. Today, he shares his golf tips on how to practice putting.
Find a straight putt and set tees at 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 feet.
All putts must be made before moving on to the next distance.
Make 30 putts from 3 feet
– then 25 putts from 4 feet
– then 15 feet from 5 feet
– then 10 feet from 6 feet
– then 5 from 10 feet
Just as if you were on the course you only get one chance to make the putt. Focus on each putt, go through your routine and stroke each putt with confidence. Stay focused, be patient and make it fun!
